COUNTY ATTORNEY
The County of Prince Edward is seeking to hire an Attorney to be the principal legal advisor to the Prince Edward Board of Supervisors and County Administration. This is a part-time position that supervises the legal affairs of the County and requires a highly skilled and motivated Virginia licensed attorney and graduate of an accredited law school with a minimum of two years as a practicing attorney. Need not have experience as a municipal attorney. Admission to practice in federal courts a plus. Familiarity with general civil litigation is necessary. The County Attorney advises County Officials and represents the County in a wide range of legal matters, particularly those dealing with contract issues; construction law; land use, subdivision and zoning issues, real estate, animal control, and eminent domain; debt collection (tax and related bankruptcy issues); franchises and related regulatory law; basic employment law; parliamentary procedure and all areas of municipal and local government law. Attendance is required at all Board meetings and at Planning Commission meetings as requested. Fee structures negotiable based on education and experience. DEPUTY ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER
Prince Edward County is accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Animal Control Officer. Duties include: enforcing County/State animal control laws; responding to citizen complaints; and care of animals. Valid Virginia driver's license required. High School diploma or equivalent.
