Previously a Charlotte County resident, Dr. Odessa Pride moved to Prince Edward County in 1976. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Virginia State College, followed by a Master of Arts degree at Longwood College. She also earned a Doctor of Education degree at Virginia State University. Dr. Pride is retired and currently serves on the Board of Supervisors for the Hampden District. She first ran for office in 2015.  In her free time, Dr. Pride is a pianist/organist for three churches, which she has been doing for over 50 years. Dr. Pride is the wife of the Late Roger L. Pride, Sr. and has 2 children and 5 grandchildren.
