The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors
meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room in the County Courthouse, 111 South Street, Third Floor, Farmville.


The Prince Edward County Planning Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room in the County Courthouse, 111 South Street, Third Floor, Farmville.

The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors
will hold a Board Planning Workshop on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Third Floor Conference Room, 111 South Street, Third Floor, Farmville Virginia, for the purposes of

  1.
Meeting with the County Administrator for a work session on the upcoming FY 13 County Budget;
  2.
Convening in Closed Session for the purpose of discussing the acquisition of real property for the "Alternate Route 628" project, pursuant to the exemptions provided for in Section 2.2-3711(A)(3) of the Code of Virginia;
  3.
Taking actions needed to accept and administer a $350,000 grant through the Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy to be used for roof replacement at STEPS, Inc.; and
 

4.

 

 

At 12:00 noon on Friday, February 3, 2012, immediately following the budget work session and Closed Session, the Board will meet on-site with representatives of Dominion Virginia Power at the proposed location of the new electrical substation in the Leigh District of Prince Edward County located at 3098 Worsham Road, Farmville, VA. Dominion has submitted an application for a Special Use Permit. Said application will likely be considered by the Board of Supervisors at its March 13, 2012 meeting, following a Public Hearing. The purpose of this site visit is to provide the Board an opportunity to have first-hand knowledge of the proposed site during its decision-making process.

 

 


The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors
will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room, 111 South Street, Third Floor, Farmville, Virginia, for the purposes of:

 

1.

 

Holding a Public Hearing to gather citizen input prior to considering adoption of a resolution to authorize condemnation proceedings in the event an agreement is not reached with Davis Real Properties, LLC, the owners, to purchase property interests necessary for county purposes, such property being a 0.919 acre portion and a 0.433 acre portion of the larger parcel identified by Prince Edward County Tax Map Number 051-9-A and located on the east side of U.S. Highway 15 in the Farmville Magisterial District of Prince Edward County (*see more details regarding this Public Hearing below); and
  2.
Convening in Closed Session for the purpose of discussing the acquisition of real property for the "Alternate Route 628" project, pursuant to the exemptions provided for in Section 2.2-3711(A)(3) of the Code of Virginia.

 

 


The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors
will hold a Public Hearing as required by Section 15.2-1903 of the Code of Virginia, on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room, 111 South Street, Third Floor, Farmville, Virginia, to gather citizen input prior to considering adoption of the Resolution Authorizing the Acquisition of Interests in Real Estate For Road Construction Purposes on Land Owned by Davis Real Properties, LLC, Tax Map #051-9-A, to authorize condemnation proceedings in the event an agreement is not reached with the owners of certain property identified therein to purchase property interests necessary for county purposes, such property being a 0.919 acre portion and a 0.433 acre portion of the larger parcel identified as Prince Edward County Tax Map #051-9-A and located on the east side of U.S. Highway 15 in the Farmville Magisterial District of Prince Edward County.

The purpose of the hearing is to consider comments from the public on this proposed action. All interested persons are invited to attend and present their views at the time and place above stated. The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors
will hold a Public Hearing as required by Section 58.1-3851.1 of the Code of Virginia, on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room, 111 South Street, Third Floor, Farmville, Virginia, to gather citizen input prior to considering an Ordinance Authorizing Funding for a Tourism Project. The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors
will hold a Public Hearing, as required by Section 15.2.2507 of the Code of Virginia, on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room, 111 South Street, Third Floor, Farmville, Virginia, to gather citizen input prior to considering the following proposed amendments to the FY 12 County Budget:

 

1.

 

Amendment to the VDOT Revenue Sharing Fund in the amount of $3,122,059 for the construction of the Alternate Route 628 Project. Revenues are $1.575,000 in State Revenue Sharing Funds, $500,000 from the Virginia Department of Transportation, and $1,047,059 from Fund Balance.
  2.
Amendment to the VDOT Revenue Sharing Fund in the amount of $572,541 for the acquisition of 0.919 acres of right-of-way and 0.433 acres for utility easements from Davis Real Properties, LLC and 6.878 acres of right-of-way from Glad Hill Properties, LLC for the Alternate Route 628 Project. Revenue is $572,541 from Fund Balance.
  3. Amendment to the General Fund in the amount of $384,150 for the acquisition of +/- 13 acres from Glad Hill Properties, LLC in the Alternate Route 628 corridor. Revenue is $384,150 from Fund Balance.
