May 6, 2009: Groundbreaking at the Prince Edward County Industrial Park - Four sites will be graded and prepared to welcome new business to the area. Special guests assisting the Board of Supervisors at this event included Senator Frank Ruff, Ned Stephenson and Scott Harwood from the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification & Community Revitalization Committee, and Joe Topham from Rep. Tom Perriello's office. Despite the heavy rains, the public enjoyed speeches inside Southside Virginia Family YMCA and then adjourned across the road to the actual sites for the groundbreaking ceremony.
