Moton Museum Hires Director
On Monday, January 14, 2008 at their monthly meeting, the R.R. Moton Museum Board of Directors unanimously accepted Mr. Lacy Ward, Jr. as museum director. With a proven track record of experience and passion in public service, Mr. Ward will lead the Museum into its next phase of development. The board - and the new director - are currently planning future events,including a community reception and educational programming to commemorate the April 1953 student walkout at the Moton School.

Lowe's Board Cutting Ceremony

January 5th, 9:00 a.m. - on a chilly Saturday morning, Board of Supervisor members, (from L to R): Buckie Fore, Howard Simpson, Sally Gilfillian, James Moore, and Charles McKay participated in a Board Cutting Ceremony to officially open the newest Lowe's Home Improvement Center in the Prince Edward County Business Park in Farmville, Virginia. Store Manager Karl Schultze (far left) can be seen assisting.
