October 16, 2009: Prince Edward County/Town of Farmville Tourism Advisory Board are offering a Customer Service Seminar presented by Virginia Tourism Corporation on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hampton Inn.
September 27, 2009: Unveiling Israel Hill Historical Marker (photos courtesy of Henry Cabarrus). In attendance were several descendants of the Hercules White family, who assisted with the unveiling of the Historical Marker.

June 4, 2009: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS UNVEILS LIGHT OF RECONCILIATION MEMORIAL
Courthouse Marker Honors Prince Edward County Heroes. Mrs. Louis Willis Foster, the last living litigant from the Davis v Prince Edward filing in 1951, led the Walk of Honor past the new monument.
May 6, 2009: Groundbreaking at the Prince Edward County Industrial Park - Four sites will be graded and prepared to welcome new business to the area. Special guests assisting the Board of Supervisors at this event included Senator Frank Ruff, Ned Stephenson and Scott Harwood from the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification & Community Revitalization Committee, and Joe Topham from Rep. Tom Perriello's office. Despite the heavy rains, the public enjoyed speeches inside Southside Virginia Family YMCA and then adjourned across the road to the actual sites for the groundbreaking ceremony.
