December 13, 2011: The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors Present a Resolution of Respect to Mattie P. Wiley. Board Chairman William G. Fore, Jr. presented a Resolution of Respect to Supervisor Mattie P. Wiley at the December 13, 2011 Board meeting. Supervisor Wiley represented Farmville District 801 on the Board.

November 30, 2011: Winter Season at Prince Edward Cannery - The Prince Edward County Cannery is now operating on limited hours for the coming winter/early spring season.  From December 1 – December 30, the cannery is open Tuesdays and Thursday at 7:00 a.m.  In January, the cannery is open only by appointment.  From February 1 through May 14, the cannery is closed. Unveiling the In The Line of Duty Memorial

September 11, 2011: Board of Supervisors unveiling the In The Line of Duty Memorial on Sunday, September 11th. This new memorial can be found on the third floor rotunda just outside the Board of Supervisors meeting room. The memorial honors four men who gave their lives in service to the community of Prince Edward County. The memorial is open to the public. Chairman Buckie Fore (far left) watches as Supervisors Pete Cambell and Bobby Jones unveil the memorial for the families of the men whose names grace this wall. Supervisors Charlie McKay and Howard Simpson can be seen watching from the far right.





Board of Supervisors present resolution to State Park Representatives - PEC is the only County in the Commonwealth to host 3 State Parks!

April 12, 2011: Representatives of Sailor's Creek Historical Battlefield State Park, Twin Lakes State Park, and High Bridge Trail State Park, which are all located in Prince Edward County, are presented copies of a resolution honoring the 75th Anniversary of Virginia State Parks, adopted by the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors at its April 12, 2011 meeting.  Presenting to representatives of Prince Edward County’s three state parks is Board Chair, William G. Judge Blanton Honored at Retirement March 29 2011

March 29, 2011: Judge Richard S. Blanton was presented a framed copy of the resAugust 8, 2018August 8, 2018 and 2 years of service as the Chief Judge of the Circuit. Board Chair, William "Buckie" Fore, Jr. read the resolution and then made the presentation to the retiring judge.

The High Bridge - Fall 2010

February 28, 2011: Work on the High Bridge to begin in March 2011. Much anticipated work on the last segment of High Bridge Trail State Park is slated to begin in early March when Keith Barber Construction of Farmville will begin decking, handrail and overlook work on High Bridge.
