Fishing Tournaments

1. All persons interested in holding a fishing tournament at Sandy River Reservoir must complete a Fishing Tournament Application. Effective July 1, 2022, applications must be submitted with a copy of Certificate of Insurance on a general liability policy with all endorsements as outlined on the application. ***Be sure to read Item #5 below.

2. After the tournament, a Fish Data Form must be completed (see instructions on form).

3. All related regulations must be adhered to before fishing begins.

4. Fishing Tournaments are NOT ALLOWED at Sandy River Reservoir from July 15 through September 15, as well as Memorial Day weekend, July 4th and Labor Day weekend.

5. ***Insurance

a. Event insurance may be purchased through a provider of your choosing.

b. One option is to go through the County's affiliation with VACorp. They offer an inexpensive solution to providing insurance for an event held by another party on a VACorp member's property.

Duck Hunting

Prince Edward County allows duck hunting on the Sandy River Reservoir; a waterfowl permit from the County is no longer needed prior to hunting. However, hunters must hold a valid state hunting license. No hunting of any kind shall be allowed on Sunday.
