At Prince Edward County we strive to foster a work environment that brings out the best in the individual employee, helps emphasize the importance of staying focused on the project or issue faced by the County, and maintains a team-oriented approach to solving problems. The following are lists of what we expect of you as employees of Prince Edward County and what you can expect of me as your County Administrator. The hope is that EVERY employee will keep these expectations in mind EVERY day in the performance of his or her duties.
What I expect of you as an employee:

- To make each citizen’s visit to County offices a pleasant, informative experience
- To be ready to work at your assigned time
- To treat others (employees and non-employees) as you wish to be treated – with respect, professionalism, and integrity
- To ask questions as needed
- To take accountability for your own actions.Be aware that your actions are a direct reflection on the County – including oral, written, and electronic communications
What you can expect of me as the County Administrator:
- To foster a work environment that employees appreciate and respect
- To set a positive example
- To strive to provide opportunities for employees to grow individually and professionally
- To listen and answer questions as needed
- To be empathetic
- To be willing to listen to new ideas and encourage employee participation whenever possible
